Reed wins WGC event
DORAL, FL (TheSpread) – Patrick Reed continued his strong start to 2014, winning the WGC-Cadillac Championship on Sunday.
Reed, who already has a PGA win this season, earned the WGC victory by posting an even-par 72 to finish at -4 for the tournament, one shot ahead of Bubba Watson and Jamie Donaldson.

Maryland EasternMariners' World Series odds drop
SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) The Mariners and White Sox are reportedly discussing a trade but Seattle's World Series odds appear to be falling.
Bruce Levine of CBS Chicago reports that the Mariners and White Sox have had discussions about a trade involving outfielder Dayan Viciedo. While Levine notes that Chicago isn't actively shopping Viciedo, the club is willing to listen to offers. Apparently the Sox also have their ears open when it comes to a possible deal involving Alejandro De Aza.
Viciedo is coming off a disappointing 2012 season in which he batted just .265 with 14 home runs and 56 RBI over 124 games. But at 25 he's just entering his prime years and he does have intriguing power potential. After signing second baseman Robinson Cano this winter, the Mariners need to continue to add offensive pieces for their huge ballpark and maybe Viciedo could be had on the cheap.
It's highly unlikely that the two situations are connected but Seattle's World Series odds have fallen over the past week. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Mariners' odds to win this year's Fall Classic were 28/1 as recently as last week, but now they're sitting at 33/1. Their odds to win the American League pennant have also dropped from 14/1 to 16/1.
